I have a reputation to uphold as Richard Siken’s #1 fan & I won’t let bad poetry enjoyers take his rightful crown away from him. He is the KING of the tumblr poetry smack down
My perhaps overwrought LeoSaya as different reflections of the same One thesis: a.k.a. Chapter One Is Good and Thematically Rich, Actually
Punisher, Phoebe Bridgers // The Beginners Guide, Davey Wreden // Stage Fright, Jenny Slate // 10 Years with Hayao Miyazaki // DanganRonpa S: Summer Camp // Post by Picasshole, art by Klimt, quote by John Berger // The Crane Wife by cj hauser // Danganronpa: The Manga; Act 2: the Case of the Super High School Level Baseball Star, Leon Kuwata, story by Spike // excerpt from 'Etcetera' by E.E. Cummings // Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc; Chapter 1, Free Time Event, and Prologue

The thing is abt this post is that I feel like if I took out all the danganronpa stuff it would probably be a killer web weaving posts that could’ve done decent numbers 2-3 years ago but 1) people would just about do anything else than admit that in some ways DR is an thematically rich text and so we deny our capacity for cringe by pretending we do not see it and 2) I would never make that post bc the visceral level to which i resonate with all these quotes about performance and commodifying your existence for other people and trying to earn your worth through art and parasocial relationships and the struggle for audience and artist to connect has everything to do with my adamant and unrelenting defense of Chapter 1 and of Sayaka and Leon as characters and their relationship with each other and to the text as first culprit and victim and how well they personify the problem of celebrity and how it creates a dissonance between the self and the persona put into the world. When people deny Leon and Sayaka the capacity for meaning or depth they are missing out.
the one trope that never fails to Get Me is normal butch x insane femme
butch whos kind of down to earth and rolls with the punches & femme whos utterly deranged and out to win her man (female). shes like hes the specialest girl ever and if you dont clap for him i’ll blow up this fucking building
like 90% of the responses to this post feature characters who are literally not butch but thats ok i too love projecting on fictional characters and lying to myself
Justin Russo and Alex Russo are so Claire and Fleabag coded
The curse of modern fandom is that it has allowed fans to get even closer to artists, but they won't view the artists as people.
Human limits, human mistakes, human feelings, human needs, are never ascribed to artists, and when other fans rightfully point out, "hey, humans are making this, maybe don't harass them or demand they cater to your personal tastes," it gets shut down under, "uh, people who make popular mainstream things are automatically Public Figures who are also probably rich, so eat the rich and destroy artists over every perceived minor fault. <3"
Even though there's, y'know, a really big strike currently going on because those artists are very much not rich or influential or in control of the bullshit.

The more friends I make in the various facets of the entertainment industry, and the more widely my own art gets shared, the more I realize that a lot of y'all genuinely don't see artists as human beings if they meet some arbitrary standard of Being Known Online.
There is no amount of online fame that makes someone subhuman and a valid target for blatant disrespect and harassment.

Contrary to popular belief, you do not actually own and control a piece of art just because you like it a lot. The artists are not subject to your personal whims and tastes. They owe you nothing.
Just found out that the atlas six is somewhat inspired by the Olivie Blake’s dramione fanfiction fjdkslfja i can’t the problem with publishing fanfiction with the serial #s filed off is not that its problematic or bereft of creativity I could not give less of a shit about that bc i think its funny and should keep happening the problem is that the fanfic ships we keep ripping off wholesale always blow
Can't stop thinking about how it's Horatio and not Hamlet who is in both the first and last scene. This is the story of Hamlet, but somehow the play begins and ends with Horatio, because even though it's about Hamlet, it's not actually his story. These are the things Horatio has witnessed - the things we as the audience have witnessed alongside him - and he is going to "speak to the yet unknowing world [h]ow these things came about" (Hamlet, 5.2.364-365). We start with Horatio witnessing the appearance of the ghost and we end with him surrounded by the dead, vowing to tell their stories.
butches are always saying shit like "been getting really into belts recently"
